And Making Record Profits!” The catalyst behind these rules is what I call the “X-Factor”, and it’s been the catalyst behind my own success as well. By using the “X-Factor” in my own business, my profits have soared since 2008… far overshadowing the results I used to get prior to that. During this time I’ve also had the privilege of spending time with, getting to know, and becoming close friends with some of the most ultra-successful business owners and professionals in the world. People who own 1 million… 10 million… even 100 million dollar plus companies. If I were to tell you who they were, you’d immediately recognize many of their names. And in EVERY instance, the “X-Factor” has been the secret behind their success as well. Today I’m going to explain the “X-Factor” in detail so you can decide if you want to start using it for yourself. I realize that for some of you, time is off the essence because you need to turn the tables back in your favor right away. The economy isn’t going to improve anytime soon. Truth is, it’s probably going to get worse before it gets better. And when it does, you need to be prepared so you don’t find yourself in the bread line. I realize this may not be what you wanted to hear, but I refuse to sugar-coat ANYTHING. I’ve been doing this for long time, and I’ve found that people much prefer the honesty, even if it stings a little in the short term. I'm assuming you would too, so that's exactly what you'll get as I tell you... And Leap Frogged Over The Masses!” I started my first business, a Carpet Cleaning Business, back in 1996.
Me and my brand new cleaning system... the proud new business owner. And let me tell you, I was excited when I opened the doors on that business. I was ready to set the world on fire – and make a ton of money in the process. Only problem was, my excitement didn’t change the fact that I didn’t have a clue what I was doing in business, and by the end of that first year I was failing miserably. Fortunately, in early 1997 I met a guy by the name of Joe Polish and he showed me how to totally turn that business around. Joe was one of the “good guys” I met along the way, and as a result we’ve had a long-term business relationship (and friendship) that continues to this day. With his help, we made the business profitable by 1999. I was making a lot of money (gross income that is) and by all of the industry standards, I was at the top of my game. I was in the top 3% of income earners in the industry. But I soon discovered that the money alone didn’t equate to happiness. I could have doubled the money I was making at the time, but that still wouldn’t have solved the BIGGER problem I was up against – the fact that my business was controlling my entire life. Everything else that was important to me, including my wife and children, had taken a back seat to that doggone business. I was in the office one Sunday morning (when I should have been spending time with my family), going over the month-end books, and that’s when I hit my breaking point. …and thought to myself, “WHO CARES how much money I can make if I continue to grow this business and it controls more and more of my life. This is ridiculous. I don’t care how much money I can make, this is NOT what I want”. In that moment, I took out a piece of paper and started making a list of what I really wanted to be true of my business, and of my life. I wanted more time for my family. I wanted to have fun with my business and get satisfaction from the work I do. I wanted to work with inspiring people and I wanted to inspire other people. I wanted to use my business to make a difference in other people’s lives. I wanted a life outside my business too. I wanted time to do the things in life that were important to ME. So… Sitting at my desk that Sunday morning, I made this list, and let me tell you… that document, that list… changed EVERYTHING! Since that day, this document has now become known as the “Lifestyle Business Blueprint”, and it’s really humbling for me to know that it’s been modeled by thousands and thousands of Business Owners from across the country and around the world. And yes (just in case you’re wondering), I’ll be telling you how you can get a copy of it for yourself. Shortly after that in 1999, I went to a seminar that Dan Kennedy was hosting in Phoenix, Arizona. At that seminar I met a guy there by the name of Perry Marshall. Perry is another one of those “really good guys”, and at that event I had a conversation with him that COMPLETELY changed the way I looked at my business. It couldn’t have been better timing because I’d just made this list of what I really wanted from my business, and how I wanted it to fit into my life. These days Perry is well-known as the Google AdWords guy. He’s world famous for what he does and has been written about in USA Today and many other big publications. But back in 1999, Google AdWords hadn’t even been heard of, and Perry was this guy who was doing some REALLY COOL stuff online. I remember how amazed I was by what he was doing, and immediately thought to myself… I knew right then that I should take a really close look at what he was doing. The other thing I appreciated about Perry was the fact that he was honest. He was authentic. I was immediately drawn to that, and if you know Perry, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s like a breath of fresh air when you meet someone like that. So… I took what Perry was sharing with me, and I started my very first Website back in 2000.
My little GetMoldSolutions.com website is still there today... running on auto-pilot... putting money into my bank account Within thirty days (one month) of that Website being “live”, I made my first sale, for a $29.95 Mold Test Kit. Big bucks… huh? But let me tell you, it wasn’t the dollar amount of the sale that excited me. What excited me was this: Here’s someone who found my Website - read the words that I’d put on that Website - and as a result of doing that, I was able to make a connection with them in a way that caused them to take out their credit card and buy a product from me… without EVER having met me in person. I was absolutely blown away by this. I thought to myself, “This is incredible, and I’ve got to figure out how to leverage this because I want to repeat this process over, and over again”. I was hooked - and long story short - I expanded that Website and leverage it I DID! I got that Website to the point where it was averaging ten to twelve thousand dollars a month in sales, and my best month ever was just a little over $19,000.00. And though I didn't realize it at the time, I’d discovered the “X-Factor”.
What I’m Sharing With You…” That website is still in place to this day – still doing its thing, still producing income for me, and its 100% on AUTO-PILOT. Now granted, I’ve figured out a few more things since then (namely how to automate and leverage my efforts), and that website certainly isn’t the major source of my income these days, but like I said, its still putting a VERY nice income into my bank account every month. Shortly after having this success, I was telling Joe Polish what had happened, and he invites me to speak at his big annual seminar. Every year in September he hosts this HUGE seminar in Phoenix, Arizona where he shows 600-700 cleaning and restoration industry professionals how to grow and expand their businesses. In 2002 I spoke for 90 minutes at that event, and simply showed everyone how I’d been using the internet and technology to leverage, automate and expand my business.
Preparing to share my unique way of doing business... with more than 600 entrepreneurs and business owners. When I left the stage after that presentation, I was mobbed by people who wanted me to help them, by showing them how to do the same thing in their own business. Problem was, I didn’t have anything to offer them. But… now that I knew there was such a demand for what I had to offer, I took the time do document what I’d done, and how I’d done it… and created the very first version of the Automatic Income System. And I Was Mobbed Once Again!” But this time I was prepared, and was able to give everyone what they wanted. I began working with the people who’d invested in the Automatic Income System, and discovered that I REALLY enjoyed it. During that 4-year stretch I had respectable growth of about 20-23% per year, and was really happy with that. I maintained my friendship with Joe, and though I didn’t really qualify, in late 2007 I got invited into his mastermind group for successful business owners who were making over a million dollars a year. Peter is most famous for offering a 10 million dollar prize to any team that would build a spacecraft capable of carrying three people to 100 kilometers above the earth’s surface, twice within two weeks. That prize was awarded on October 4, 2004 and since that time, the X Prize Foundation has awarded many more prizes that have spurred innovations in other stalled industries. It wasn’t until I got invited into this elite group that I discovered what I’d actually accomplished. Were All Doing The Same Thing As Me” Though they were obviously doing it on a much bigger scale than I was at the time. Most of the people in this group owned companies ranging in size from 1 to 20 million, and some of them owned companies that did in excess of 170 million per year. Once they showed me the gravity of what I’d accomplished, I used the “X-Factor” to grow my business at an alarming rate over the next four years. I took my business from $246,000 at the beginning of 2008 to $1,300,000 (1.3 million) by the end of 2011. When you average it all out, I had an incredible 51.7% growth every single year from 2008 to 2011… during of one of the worst economic climates we’ve ever seen. From 2008 through 2011 scores of business owners were hanging on for dear life, while many others couldn’t weather the storm and had to close their doors. Yet at the same time, myself and the others who are members of this elite group have been experiencing our best years ever. To this day, my business continues to grow at an amazing pace, in spite of everything we hear in the media, and see around us, all thanks to the “X-Factor”. You must maintain integrity in the relationship with your subscribers. When you do, they’ll become the #1 most valuable asset you’ll ever have. Rule #3: Start a relationship and begin communicating with your subscribersThis is EVERYTHING… your entire business is about RELATIONSHIPS.And thanks to the internet, it’s now easier than ever to create incredible relationships with your subscribers, even if you don’t have a lot of spare time. Think of it this way, relationships = money. Now, when I say relationships, I DON’T mean relationships with the kind of people that make you wonder why you ever went into business in the first place. I’m NOT talking about customers who complain about everything, or price shop all the time, because that’s the only way they care about buying. Those aren’t the kind of relationships I’m talking about at all. I’m talking about relationships with the PERFECT customers. The ones you wish you had 100 or 1,000 of. The ones who, if everyone in your business acted like they did, you’d have a smile on your face from ear to ear every day. Those kind of relationships are where your money is made. The better you get a creating valuable, long lasting and meaningful relationships like this in your life, the more successful you’ll be, the more money you’ll make, and the happier you’ll be. And if you’ve got an extra 30-60 minutes a week to spare, I’ll show you how to make it happen. Rule #4: Be yourself, be authentic and stay in touch regularlyShare personal stories and experiences, just like you would with a good friend.I stay in touch with my subscribers once or twice a week and it takes less than an hour of my time. I’ll typically send 3-4 personal communications to every 1 sales communication. This means that the majority of what I put out is relationship-building content. By structuring things this way (and following the next 3 rules I’m about to give you) it allows me to have HUGE paydays whenever I make an offer something for sale. Because my subscribers get to know me, and have a relationship with me, they also get to like me. And because they like me, they know I’d never steer them wrong. That’s why they’re so happy to invest in the products and services I offer them. Rule #5: Find out what else your subscribers want, and how you can best help themThis is the simplest thing in the world to do, because all you have to do is ASK.Your subscribers are dying to tell you how you can better serve them, if you’ll just ask. Most business owners and professionals are so busy, and so wrapped up in their own agenda, that they never take the time to find out what their customers or patients really want from them. This is a HUGE mistake. When you align what you’re doing, with what your subscribers want you to give them, you’ll see your income spike so fast that it will make your head spin. Rule #6: Become their hero by giving them what they just told you they wantYou’re going to score HUGE points when you begin regularly asking your subscribers what they want from you and how you can better help them.But… You’re going to score even bigger points when you come back and say, “Ok, here you are. I’m now offering you the very thing you just told me you wanted. That’s not necessarily the exact wording you’d use, but it’s pretty close. I’ve repeated this process so many times in my own business, and every time it results in a huge payday for me. And rightfully so. When we’re giving our subscribers a ton of value, and they love us for what we do… we’re SUPPOSED to get compensated really well for our efforts.
Rule #7: Respond quickly by finding or creating products and services that you can offer themHere’s the big secret behind the 7th rule…The first time I ever used these rules was shortly after starting my mold website. A subscriber had written in, asking if I had a recommendation for a good HEPA vacuum. Being that I’d already been in the industry since 1996, I knew of a good vacuum and told her about it. That same day, she went to the website I’d recommended, and bought the vacuum. That’s when I decided to set up a joint venture relationship with the vacuum supplier, so I could get paid whenever they sold a vacuum to one of my subscribers. Once that was done, I shared this woman’s email, along with my response… with my entire subscriber list for my mold website. And yep, you guessed it… I made thousands and thousands of dollars from that email, when a number of my subscribers raced over to my joint venture partners website to buy the HEPA vacuum I’d just recommended.
I get checks like this in the mail every month... for simply giving my subscribers what they want to buy from me. As you can probably tell by now, I’ve gotten really good at doing what I do. And I’ve got really good at showing people like yourself how to easily do the same thing. Over the last several years I’ve perfected this unique process for extracting massive equity from the subscribers on your list each month… while having them love you for doing what you do. And yes, this process has been working like crazy since 2008… during one of the worst economic climates we’ve seen. It just goes to prove, that when you get this right, you can secure your financial future, even under the worst of conditions. When you get this right, life becomes SOOOOO easy because we completely eliminate any need for selling. All we’re doing is giving people what they already want to buy from us. People buy from people they like, and they keep buying from people they like. The most valuable asset you’ll ever have is the relationships with the people on your subscriber list and your other business contacts. Without An Ounce Of Sales Skill!” Then I’m going to share a quick little story that ties all 7 rules together - so you can see the amazing thing that happens when you start using them, by following the same systematic formula that I’ve perfected over the years. I never could have made 1.3 million dollars from the relatively small number of people on my subscriber list… if I wasn’t authentic… if I wasn’t giving them what they wanted… if I weren’t using these 7 rules. It would have been absolutely impossible. Here’s a quick little story that ties all 7 of these rules together and explains why it’s actually quite easy to have such extraordinary results like this on a regular and ongoing basis... in ANY economic climate. When I was a kid, my mom and dad used to listen to this guy Paul Harvey on the radio. Depending on how old you are, you may or may not even know who Paul was. He’s since passed away, but when I was a kid, Paul Harvey had this unique relationship with America. My parents, (like so many other Americans) would actually rearrange their schedule each day if needed, so they could listen to Paul on the radio. That’s the kind of relationship my parents had with him. That’s the kind of relationship America had with him. And because he had this relationship, whenever Paul mentioned a product or service on the radio, people swarmed to buy it… just because he mentioned it. Everyone knew that whenever Paul mentioned a product or service… it HAD to be good. Everyone knew… without question… that Paul would NEVER steer them wrong.
