In Just 5 More Days…

Friday, March 24th, 2006

I’ll be heading back to Chicago, and that fires me up!

Why, you ask?

Cause I’m gonna come back home with a boatload of new munee-makin strategies.

And you can bet that I’ll be sharing them with you.

I’ll be attending Dan Kennedy’s Marketing Super Conference next week (which means I won’t be checking emails during that time).

The best thing about attending this seminar each year is the fact that I’m able to come home, implement the strategies I discover, and drastically increase my cashflow.

As a subscriber, you are now a direct beneficiary of this incredible event.

You don’t have to pay the hefty seminar fee of $2500 or travel to Chicago for a week.

No siree!

I’ll be sharing what I learn with you, so you can increase your income as well.

Since I’m going to be out town for awhile, my next Free Teleseminar won’t be until April 10th.

As you know, I only have 39 lines available for these events.

But here’s the deal:

Because I’ll be sharing a ton of new information on this particular Teleseminar, it’s gonna be sold out in no time flat.

If you want to join us, I suggest that you Click Here right now and claim your seat.

Call in about 5 minutes early on the 10th so you don’t get shut out.

And rest assured, I’m gonna make it well worth your while to join us on this call.

That’s it for now, and I look forward to speaking with you on the 10th.

Dedicated to your success,
Kevin Thompson

P.S. If I have an internet connection in my hotel room while in Chicago, I may be able to give you some “live” updates from the seminar. So be on the look out next week. If you get an email from me, it’s gonna be a doozy.

Sometimes You Just Gotta Fire Em

Monday, March 20th, 2006

Last week, my good friend Perry Marshall (the Google AdWords Expert) sent me an interesting email in which he spoke of Jack Welch.

Apparently Jack, who led GE to incredible success, had a rule: You gotta get rid of the bottom 10% of your employees every year.

While this may be a bit controversial, it obviously worked.

As a home-based business owner, I firmly believe this principle also applies to your customers.

Let me give you a case study in “jerk factor” that explains my point.

When I used to own the cleaning and restoration company, I met with this particular client to bid on a job she wanted done.

As always, I spent an hour or so, covering all her concerns and addressing each one of them.

I do this to insure that I’m perfectly clear on what the customer expects from my company.

Once I’d finished the evaluation and knew the precise work she wanted done, I bid on the job accordingly.

After reviewing the bid, she had me call the office and schedule her appointment for the following week.

Little did I know what we were about to get ourselves into.

When my guys arrived to do the work, it was like this customer had done a complete Jekyll and Hyde routine.

While she’d been extremely cordial with me, she treated my crew like they were dirt.

She also insisted that they perform a host of additional services, that were not included in the original bid, and she wanted them done at no additional charge.

That’s when Rusty (the crew leader) called me at the office and explained what was going on.

After hearing this, I was surprised, but figured it was just a misunderstanding, and I’d be able to iron things out with the customer.

I had Rusty put her on the line so I could speak with her.

As soon as she took the phone, she began reading me the riot act, insisting that my crew perform the additional services, for no extra charge.

And if we didn’t, she was gonna send us packing.

After finding out where she was coming from, I politely asked her to let me speak with Rusty again.

At which point I told him to pack up and get outta there.

About a half hour later, this customer calls me at the office, and is irate because my guys left. She insisted that I have them return immediately.

To which I replied…

“I’m sorry, but I refuse to tolerate customers who expect something for nothing and treat my employees the way you did. I apologize for any misunderstanding, but you’re going to have to find another company to provide services for you, because we’re putting an end to this relationship right now”.

End of discussion!

But here’s the real point…

YOU too have customers like this, who are toxic, and MUST be deliberately removed from your life.

I’m giving you permission to fire them. Get rid of ’em. Cancel their order, give ’em their money back and send ’em packing.

Then give your time and attention to a customer who deserves it.

You’ll be amazed at how your life and your business improve. The customer who deserves your attention is almost always less demanding and doesn’t have a nasty little entitlement mentality.

And here’s another secret, these good customers are also the ones who spend more money with you, with less resistance.

The best customers are the ones who treat you with the most respect.

Do you want to have a massively profitable home-based business that’s based on quality relationships and mutual respect?

If so, join me on the next FREE Teleseminar and I’ll show you how to make it a reality.

I look forward to speaking with you. Just Click Here.

Happy firing,
Kevin Thompson

An Embarrassing Confession

Friday, March 17th, 2006

I have an embarrassing confession to make.

Since you’ve probably not met me in person, you wouldn’t know this, but I have a “lazy eye”.

That’s right.

My right eye wanders off, just kind of doing its own thing.

When folks meet me for the first time, most of them do a double-take.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone who’s not really paying attention to a word you say?

Even though they’re standing right in front of you, their body language makes it glaringly obvious that their mind is somewhere else.

Because I have a “lazy eye”, I unintentionally offend people when I meet them for the first time cause they think I’m not paying attention to them.

I’ve had to deal with this my entire life, and I’m constantly having to explain my “lazy eye”.

But you know what?

That’s NOT my embarrassing confession.

Would you believe that I allowed my “lazy eye” to stand in the way of my success for most of my life?

Yes, it’s true, and that is my embarrassing confession.

When I was just a young lad, all the other kids would tease me about “the eye”.

As a result, I had an incredibly low self esteem for most of my life.

I hated to look anyone else in the eye, for fear of them making some kind of snide comment about “the eye”.

Thankfully, that ain’t the end of this here story.

Several years back I met a successful business owner, and guess what!

This guy had a “lazy eye” too.

And after sharing some of my story, he hit me with a hard dose of reality by letting me know that I’d been using my “lazy eye” as an excuse for all my shortcomings.

While painful to hear, I knew he was right.

I decided to make some changes, and while it wasn’t easy, it was the best thing I ever did.

Yes, I still have “the eye” (and if you ever get the opportunity to meet me in person, I’ll be proud to show it to ya), but no longer is it standing in the way of my success in business, or life.

So let me ask you…

What are your excuses?

As you think about that question, I’m going to give you the same advice that cock-eyed successful business owner once gave me.

Get over em!

Yeah, I realize that might sting a little, but it comes straight from the heart.

If you’re gonna be successful in life and business, you can’t be makin excuses.

And truth is, you ain’t got a single one of em that I couldn’t shoot full of holes in an instant. And trust me, I’m telling you this because I care.

With that said, let me prove it by makin you a deal you can’t refuse.

If you’ll agree to shelve all your excuses for about 70 minutes, I’ll show you exactly what it takes to Make $5,000.oo To $10,000.00 A Month With Your Home-Based Business… Even If You’re Just Getting Started.

I look forward to speaking with you.

The Porn Spam Bust

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

I just got through reading a post written by a stay at home mom named Jennifer, on one of the forums I frequently visit.

Apparently, she’s in serious legal trouble, due to the fact that she’s been involved with an illegal porn spam project that affected millions of people across the country.

In her post, Jennifer gives all the details, including how and why she got sucked into the scheme, which was obviously for the money.

She was making $9,000.00 a month.

I’m sure as heck not here to pass judgment on Jennifer. Truth be told, I feel bad for her.

But her story brings up a very interesting point.

In her own words, she admits what she did was wrong. But because she was being paid so well, she “put her ethics aside”.

And lest you think Jennifer’s story is some isolated case, let me assure you, it’s not.

While it may be an extreme example, there are plenty of business owners who have “put their ethics aside”, in the hopes of making more money.

And the sad truth is, it’s actually a lot easier to make money when you do it ethically.

Let me explain why.

If you’re an unethical business owner, you don’t get to take advantage of repeat or referral business.

Once you’ve treated some one unfairly, they ain’t gonna be coming back for a second round.

As a result, you’ll NEVER get your hands on the biggest profit center in your business (the repeat and referral income).

I was at a seminar in Chicago last year and one of my mentors, Dan Kennedy shared his story of speaking on the Peter Lowe Success Tour, where he sold millions and millions of dollars worth of his products.

He explained that if all he accomplished at those events, was to sell his product from the stage, he would’ve never wasted his time.

Dan knew that every time he sold a product, he also gained a new client, and when they were happy with the product, they’d come back and buy again.

As a result, each time he made a sale, he put money in the bank that day. But because he knew that each new client was worth X number of dollars to him (in repeat sales) he also put money in his “future wealth” account.

And I’ve got to admit, since hearing his story, my own view of business has completely changed.

In my own businesses, I now concentrate on my “future wealth” bank account just as much (if not more) than I concentrate on my daily sales bank account.

As a result, my “future wealth” income has almost surpassed the amount of money I make from daily sales.

In the months and years to come, my “future wealth” will completely overshadow my daily income.

But here’s the deal:

If you’re an unethical business person, you’ll never be able to do what I’ve just shown you.

Because you’ll never get any repeat business.

To build “future wealth” requires that you give your clients the best possible quality and quantity of services and products.

Which in turn, requires that you do business in an ethical manner.

I’ll be discussing more on the topic of “future wealth” during my upcoming Free Teleseminar.

Are You Too Boring?

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

My wife Lisa and I went out to dinner with some friends last weekend, and after dinner we all decided to walk across the street and get dessert at the Stone Cold Creamery.

And let me tell you, if you’ve never been to Stone Cold Creamery, you need to check it out.

In addition to having the best ice cream on the planet, they make incredible use of the “entertainment factor”, and rest assured, it keeps their customers coming back for more (myself included).

If you’ve never been, I won’t ruin the surprise by telling you how they do what they do.

Instead, I’ll let you find out for yourself.

As home-based business owners, there’s a valuable lesson to be discovered here.

Most business owners are incredibly boring when it comes to selling their product or service.

They create these brochures that are full of facts, figures, statistics and graphs, that are meant to show everyone how great they are.

Have you ever seen garbage like this?

Of course you have.

And when you got one of these boring brochures, what did you do with it?

That’s right, you deep sixed it, right into the trash can.

It’s no surprise that the businesses who produce this garbage aren’t making any money.

If you bore your prospects to death, they’ll never stick around long enough to spend money with you.

But, on the other hand…

If you entertain, as well inform, not only will your prospects buy what you’re offering, but they’ll tell others about you as well.

You see, people love (and need) to be entertained.

Consider yourself.

When I communicate with you, I don’t show you how to make more money in business by quoting statistics and figures.

How boring would that be?

Instead, I share personal experiences and stories (some of which are incredibly embarrassing).

I also let you see inside my life, and let you know that I’m a regular person just like you.

As a result, you’re entertained.

Imagine how successful I’d be with my mold business (at if I didn’t entertain my prospects.

For most, the subject of mold is incredibly boring.

Yet I average $7,000.00 – $10,000.00 a month from this little project, and all I do is send a weekly email to my subscribers, which takes less than 15 minutes.

And trust me, if I can entertain folks when talking about the subject of “mold” (and make this kind of money doing it), I can sure as heck show you how to make great money by entertaining YOUR prospects.

Cause the truth is…

It ain’t hard when you know what you’re doing.

And if you’ve got a topic that’s a little more exciting than mold, it’s gonna be REALLY easy!

How would you like to make more than $1,500.00, for writing an email that only took you a few minutes?

It’s possible you know.

But it ain’t gonna happen if you bore people to death.

If you want to find out How I Write Entertaining Emails That Make $7,000.00 to $10,000.00 A Month In Sales, then you’ll want to Click Here right now.

I look forward to showing you my secrets.

She Knows A Good Thing

Tuesday, March 14th, 2006

I recently got an email from a new subscriber, who “stumbled across” the WAHM System site.

She had a few choice comments, so I thought I’d share em with you:

= = =

Hello Kevin,

I’m looking for a serious business to do at home.

It’s funny that I came across your web site because I was searching for the U.S. mint. I was looking into a gift for my husband who collects coins. I never actually reached the U.S. Mint site because your site was so compelling.

I have been thinking about a home business for a long time but never came up with anything that was really profitable or real that I could make decent money doing.

I really need to do something to help my husband and be able to be here for my children at the same time. It would be nice to contribute and be there for my family at the same time.

I immediately connected to your story as I am also from a very cold place with not a lot of opportunity to make a good income.

I live in Maine. There are not a lot of good paying jobs here. I could probably get a job tomorrow make $7.00 an hour. But I would still be without health Insurance and be gone a great deal of the time as I live in a very rural area and would have to travel to get to anything which would take more time away from being there for my family.

I want to be able to go to the kids ball games, have time to put decent meals on the table every night and also make enough to make a difference in our financial situation and a secure future. My husband works very hard, usually seven days a week and we still can’t afford health insurance or put any away for when we get older.

I worry all the time about what will happen to us when he can no longer keep up the pace. I could never pay the bills on my own.

My husband currently has his own construction business building houses for people.

He pays the bills but there is never enough to get ahead as he don’t feel it’s right to charge any more. He also is afraid that he won’t get any work as there are too many work out of your truck carpenters around.

I keep telling him that he is not just a carpenter. He is very smart and can build houses through every stage. This includes from the ground work through to the finish.

Not only that but he is there to help the old lady next door on a fixed income when her faucet leaks or her furnace is acting up, or the man up the street who has fallen out of his wheelchair and needs help getting up.

He is also a volunteer first responder and fireman. He is a very kind and caring individual with a big heart. I would really like to help him.

Gail Russell

It Was My Own Fault

Monday, March 13th, 2006

Boy did I get in trouble the other night.

My wife Lisa caught me doin sumthin I never shoulda been doin.

And let me tell you, she wasn’t too happy about it.

It all began when I was sitting here in my spare bedroom office working on the computer.

Now you might be thinking, why would your wife get upset about that? That’s what you do for a living.

Well, here’s the problem…

I made Lisa two promises a couple years back when we got engaged.

1. I promised her that I’d NEVER work past 5PM.

2. I promised that I’d NEVER let my business take precedence over our family time.

And the other night, I broke my first promise to her, while coming dangerously close to breaking the second one.

So truth is, she had every right to be upset.

You see…

I’ve always been a really hard worker. The fact that I worked as an Alaska Fisherman for seven years proves that point.

And to top it off, I get great satisfaction from showing my clients how easy it is to have a profitable home business like mine.

As a result, much of what I do doesn’t seem like work, because I’m passionate about what I have to offer, and I enjoy what I do.

But now I’m getting side tracked, so let’s get back to the other night’s happenings…

Lisa and I had plans to meet some friends for the evening.

While she was getting ready, I figured I’d zip down to the office really quick and respond to some client emails.

I hadn’t even been at it for two minutes when Lisa caught me in the act… and got really angry.

And truth is, I can’t blame her.

I tried to justify my actions by explaining that I was helping some of my new clients get their Automatic Income System up and running as fast as possible.

She wasn’t buying it.

“I thought you didn’t offer email consulting for your clients”, she exclaimed.

“I don’t”, I replied, “but I’m excited about the results everyone’s having with the system, so I thought I’d bend the rules a little”.

To make a long story short, this was a losing battle, and I knew it.

You see, when I started helping stay at home moms (and dads), I assured Lisa that I’d structure it in a way that wouldn’t cut into our personal time.

Now I’d broken this promise, and to be honest, it made me feel pretty bad.

Needless to say, I had to make a few changes.

But the whole incident brings up a VERY important point.

When thinking about your own business, you need to get perfectly clear on what you will, and WILL NOT do.

Decide how you want your business to fit into YOUR lifestyle, and structure it accordingly.

After all, the one and ONLY purpose of your business is to provide the lifestyle of your choosing.

Most home-based business owners don’t consider this, and by the time they figure out what happened, their business has taken control of their lives.

By following my lead, this will never happen to you. Instead, you’ll have a business that provides you with a great monthly income, and more importantly, the lifestyle of your choosing.

Dedicated to your success,
Kevin Thompson

Warning: This May Offend You

Monday, March 6th, 2006

I’m psyched because at the end of this month I’m heading back to Chicago to attend a seminar that’s being hosted by my marketing mentor, Mr. Dan Kennedy.

One of the biggest lessons Dan ever taught me is this:

If you aren’t offending someone at least once a day with your marketing, you aren’t making an impact.

Now I gotta level with you…

When I first heard this, it didn’t sit well with me.

Cause truth be told, I’ve always been a pretty dogone nice guy, and didn’t want to intentionally offend anyone.

But you know what I discovered?

Once I learned how to market my business correctly, two things happened:

1. I started making a lot more money

2. As nice as I tried to be, I still offended folks

I can still remember how shocked I was when I received my very first hate mail.

But now, things are different.

My skin has got a whole lot thicker, and when I get emails, like the one I got from Don the other day (see the blog entry below), I let it roll right off my back.

No longer am I shocked.

If you try to please everyone and offend no one, you’re gonna have a business that doesn’t make much money.

Dedicated to your success,
Kevin Thompson

The Ultimate Home-Business Lifestyle

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

Imagine having a business that’s so much fun, it doesn’t seem like work at all!

You actually look forward to going to “work”.

And you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home.

I know this may sound outrageous, but it’s true.

In fact, I’ve been living this very lifestyle since April 19, 2004.

For me, it’s the most awesome thing in the world. The money is incredible and the lifestyle is even better.

I don’t have to sit in traffic to get to work everyday. I don’t have a boss breathing down my neck… I’m my own boss.

I don’t have some schmuck telling me how much money I can make, or what I’m worth.

I’m the only one who’s in charge of the money I make.

I don’t have anyone telling me what hours I have to work. I make my own hours. I work when I want to and take time off when I want.

In fact, as soon as I finish writing this and posting it to the website, I’m outta here for the day, and it’ll only be 2PM.

No longer do I work my butt off , for 24-36 hours straight as an Alaska Fisherman, only to make someone else rich.

Now I’m in control of my own life!

Even at that, I know there are some who think to themselves, “Yeah, you can do it but I’ll never be able to make my home-based business work.”

And if that’s the case, I need to point something out.

I’m just a regular guy.

I don’t do opera. I like Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engval.

I don’t drink wine. I like Bud Light in a can.

I don’t have any extraordinary talents or gifts. I just happened to discover the system for being ridiculously successful with my home-based business, and if you follow my System it will work for you too.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

You can do it too!

There are only three things that stop people from being successful.

1. Lack of knowledge

2. Lack of confidence

3. Lack of money.

I’ve discovered that it really boils down to just one thing, which is lack of knowledge.

Knowledge is the key. If you Invest In Your Knowledge and discover what you have to do to be successful, your fear goes away, your confidence skyrockets and the money starts flowing.

So, if you’re ready to Take Action and make some changes, Here’s Your Chance.

All you gotta do is join me on this Free Teleseminar, and I’ll show you how to make it happen.

Dedicated to your success,
Kevin Thompson
