Going Against The Grain

I got an interesting email yesterday, and thought I’d share it with you.

Kevin,

I was impressed, and made very comfortable, by your email correspondence program. Well written, CANDID and OPEN, honest.

Through the months of your “email dialogue” with me, you succeeded in lessening my fears and I ended up not only trusting you but LIKING you.

Lastly your Video actually did contain actionable information, different than the usual promotional stuff.

First of all, I want to say thanks for the great comments.

My biggest goal has always been to deliver SERIOUS value to the subscribers on my list.

While all the “pretend experts” are content to sell, sell, sell – that just doesn’t sit right with me.

Now don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with selling. And if you’ve got a quality product that provides real value for the user of that product, I believe you have an obligation to sell it.

Who’s Dr. Bret Hoffer?

Today’s the day.

I’m not putting it off any longer.

It’s time for a major change.

You’re probably wondering what I’m talking about – so let me explain.

Last Thursday, I hosted a mastermind call for a group of my private clients, and as usual, the members of this group are experiencing MAJOR breakthroughs in their businesses.

Dr. Bret Hoffer comes to mind immediately.

He’s preparing to launch a major munee-making project, and he wanted to get some feedback from myself and the other members.

And let me tell you – this was a very smart move on his part.

Within a few short minutes, the group was on a roll.

I was amazed by the interaction that took place on Dr. Bret’s behalf.

The give and take.

The incredible sharing of information.

If you were there (on last week’s call), or listened to the recording, you know precisely what I’m talking about.

Be Different… Or Fail

A few weeks ago I was doing some research for a big project, and once again, I was amazed by what I was seeing.

I probably shouldn’t have been, but I was.

The research I was doing at the time, involved finding examples of “good” munee-makin websites (and yes, the misspelling is intentional).

But let me tell you, I was having a real challenge finding some good examples to use.

When I look at most of these websites, I wonder what the owner was thinking.

It doesn’t matter what category of business I look at – could be the dental industry, the real estate industry, pet grooming, diet pills, fishing gear, whatever – 99% of the sites look almost identical.

It’s no wonder that NO ONE is making any munee.

You can’t make munee on the internet, or anywhere else for that matter, unless you’re different – unless you set yourself apart from the crowd of “me-tooers”.

The simple fact that you want to be in business for yourself is no longer sufficient.

You need to have a legitimate reason for breathing air in the marketplace you intend to spend your time in.

Let me give you an example of what I’m talking about.

When it comes to the how-to-make-munee market, there’s a TON of companies competing for your dollars.

I’m sure you’ll agree with me on this point.

You’ll also agree with the fact that 99% of these companies are “me-tooers”.

Almost all of them are screaming the same thing, hoping that you’ll pick the product that they’re selling.

But…

About 3 years ago, a complete unknown enters this marketplace.

This individual didn’t have big munee backing his company, but he did have something different to say to the marketplace.

No, he wasn’t going to make you a milyunair in a week.

He wasn’t offering overnight success.

He wasn’t conforming to ANY of the hype.

No siree.

This individual came from out of nowhere, with an entirely different message, which was this…

For the last several years, my website has been putting $7,000.00 to $10,000.00 a month into my bank account, and I can show you how to have a website that does the same.

WOW.

Imagine that.

Someone who actually does what they teach.

Now that’s a novelty.

And – In case you haven’t figured it out yet, the person I’m referring to is myself.

So here’s the big question:

What makes your product or service different from all of your competitors?

In this day and age, we don’t need anymore “me-tooers”. We need people who have something different.

But here’s the BIG secret.

You don’t need a different product – you simply need a different way of presenting it.

It’s not often that I get emails like this one, but every once in awhile, it happens.

Ole Gerald wasn’t too kind in this piece of correspondence that he sent me yesterday.

And…

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t bother to ask the most important question.

Let me share Gerald’s email, then I’ll explain what I’m talking about.

You sound like an idiot!

You can’t even spell.

Why would anyone want to join your tele-seminar?

If I wanted to join your stupid tele-seminar I would have already. I don’t want to join you because you write like an 8th grade drop out who can’t even spell money much less make any.

All throughout your writings you have misspelled words and it makes me wonder if any fool has fallen for your gimmick. Stop sending me your stupid emails!

After receiving Gerald’s email, I did as he requested, and have removed him from my subscriber list.

Too bad for him.

Gerald is going to continue going through life, whining and moaning every time someone rubs him wrong.

Instead, he would have been smart to re-structure his email to me, and ask a smart question, which is – “Kevin, why do you use so many misspellings throughout your writings?

You use words like munee, cashola and FREE-ola and I’m curious, why do you use these misspellings”?

Had Gerald asked a smart question like this, he would have received a VERY smart answer.

Instead, at his own request, he is now an ex-subscriber, and is no further toward achieving his goals than he was before.

I will let you know that there’s a VERY good reason for the misspellings throughout my writings.

Actually, there’s TWO VERY good reasons.

I may even decide to reveal them to you on next Tuesday’s Seminar-By-Phone.

Breakfast At Linda’s

Last Saturday morning I met an old friend for breakfast.

My friend, Todd, used to be a skipper on one of the fishing boats I worked on, and I hadn’t seen him for more than 15 years.

Back in the day, I had a TON of respect for Todd.

He was an accomplished fishing boat captain, and let me tell you, becoming a skipper is no easy task.

Today – Todd still works in the maritime industry, and he’s still the skipper of a boat.

As we sat at breakfast, recounting old memories, Todd reminded me of something I’d told him – many years ago.

“Kevin”, he said, “I remember one day when we were getting ready to leave Dutch Harbor for another fishing trip.

You and several of the guys were sitting in the galley, and you made a statement that I’ve never forgotten to this day.

You announced to everyone in the room that you’d only be fishing for another year or two, but you had no intention of making a career of it.

As soon as you’d saved enough funds, you were going to start your own business.

Now – here it is, 15 years later, and you’ve accomplished what you set out to do, and you’ve done it with flying colors.

You’re a successful business owner, and you’re living life on your terms.

So – my question to you is this – what advice would you have for someone like me, who wanted to have the same results”?

“That’s an easy one”, I replied.

“All you gotta do is find some one who’s already been there and done that, and ask them to mentor you.

That’s what I did, and it worked like a charm.

My biggest mentor has been Matt Furey, and once I latched on to him, the ride has been incredible.

And now, after having such success in my own business, these days I spend most of my time, showing people like yourself, how they too can make the BIG bucks in a business of their own.

And because I’ve already done what I teach, I’m one of the very few people out there, who’s been billed the “real deal”.

“I know what you’re talking about”, Todd went on, “There’s all kinds of fly-by-night guys out there.

That’s why I wanted to meet with you this morning.

We go back a long ways, and I knew you’d steer me in the right direction.

Not only that, I knew that you actually run a home business, and I want to get my information from someone like you, who’s actually done what they’re teaching”.

Needless to say, because Todd’s ready to take action, he’ll be joining us on next week’s Seminar-By-Phone.

Make Room for MORE

As a child, I watched my parents struggle to make it financially.

Dad was a real estate agent, and mom was a self employed a bookkeeper.

This meant that neither of them had a steady paycheck. Some months were good, while others – not so good.

In 1975, they got involved in Amway, with the dream of improving their financial situation.

They spent the next several years of their lives “working the business”.

This meant that they would spend 3-4 nights each week, sharing the business opportunity with others.

This also meant that my younger brother and I were left with a babysitter for 3-4 nights each week.

Looking back on this, I understand what my parents were trying to accomplish, and have great respect for them.

After years of hard work and effort, mom and dad built a pretty successful Amway business.

But let me tell you – they paid one heck of a price.

Now don’t get me wrong.

I believe that EVERY successful person has to “pay a price”.

But here’s the deal…

When it comes to making munee, most people think that hard work, determination and dedication will get them where they want to go in life.

My parents mistakenly believed this.

In fact – were they alive today, they’d swear that this is why they were successful in their Amway business.

Yet I’m here to tell you that this is completely WRONG.

If you want more out of life, the secret is NOT hard work, determination and dedication.

The secret is MINDSET.

Without the correct mindset, you’ll do nothing but struggle to eek out a living, and even if you do make some good munee along the way, you’ll continually be in fear of losing it.

But…

When you change your mindset, and make a decision to “expect more”, that’s when you’ll start getting more.

Most people mistakenly believe that resources in this world are limited.

When it comes to munee, this is especially true.

But the fact is, everything you could possibly want or desire, is available to you right now. All you have to do is equip yourself with the tools to go out and claim what’s rightfully yours.

My mentor (Matt Furey) explains it this way:

“You can take all the air you want in a single breath. You can try to deprive other people of oxygen with your inhale, but the universe doesn’t care. Your BIG breath will not prevent another soul on this planet from taking a breath that’s even BIGGER than yours”.

I’m here to tell you, that when it comes to munee, the situation is precisely the same.

You can take all the munee you want in a single day. You can try to deprive other people of what they want with your success, but the universe doesn’t care. Your success will not prevent another soul on this planet from having even MORE success than you.

I didn’t come to grips with this concept until a few years ago (and I thank Matt for that – from the bottom of my heart).

But let me tell you, once I did – EVERYTHING changed.

No longer do I “work hard”.

In fact, my work is so enjoyable, that it doesn’t feel like work at all.

And now – the munee flows in, just as if someone opened the valve on a fire hydrant.

So – here’s my question to you:

Are YOU ready for MORE?

If your answer was “no”, then here’s what I suggest.

Go to your bathroom and stand in front of the mirror, breathe onto mirror, check for fog, if no fog – dial 911.
