Are You Easily Offended?

Oh, What A Bizness

Oh, What A Bizness…

That was the subject line of the email I received from Matt Furey yesterday.

As you can imagine, it caught my curiosity, and I HAD to open it.

But truth be told, I open EVERY email Matt sends me, after all, he’s my mentor.

In this particular email, Matt was telling the story of how he suffered a detached retina while in Finland.

He immediately booked two first class tickets back to the States – for himself, and his business associate Ed.

When he arrived in New York on Friday evening, a Lincoln town car was waiting, to rush them to Columbia Hospital, where Dr. Fine, one of the top eye surgeons in the state, was there to examine him.

After the examination, Dr. Fine determined that Matt did in fact need surgery, and he needed it FAST.

They scheduled the surgery for the following morning, which was Saturday, at 10am.

Matt decided to book two rooms for he and Ed at a hotel in Times Square, at a cost of $500.00 per night.

Dr. Fine and his entire staff were on hand the following morning, so Matt could get the medical attention he needed.

Now keep in mind, the doctor and his staff don’t usually work on weekends, and when they do, especially when it’s on such short notice – it’s not cheap.

As I write this, I just got off the phone with Matt’s brother, Sean, and he let me in on a VERY interesting piece of information.

Apparently, every form that’s used at the hospital, by every physician, nurse and on down the line, has a little box in the upper left-hand corner.

In Matt’s situation, every one of those boxes was filled with a big huge “E”.

That “E” stands for EMERGENCY.

And as you can imagine, every time they put an “E” in one of those boxes, it’s adding a considerable amount of cost to the medical procedures being provided.

While I don’t know the final bill for all the medical treatment Matt needed, it’s quite safe to guess that is was well over 100 thousand dollars.

Here’s what’s MOST interesting about this little story.

I know for a fact that Matt hasn’t spent one second worrying about how he was gonna pay all the bills associated with this incident.


Most people, when faced with the same situation, would be losing sleep at night, wondering how in the heck they’d ever be able to pay all the bills.

They’d also be worrying about missing work, lost income, bills piling up and a myriad of other things.

In short, they’d be stressing out like crazy. And yes, all this stress would cause their recovery to be longer.

Heck, it wasn’t all that long ago when I used to stress about finances all the time.

God forbid if something like this would have happened in my life.

But things are different these days.

Because I was willing to try something new, willing to take criticism from my friends, willing to follow the advice of someone who’d already done what I wanted to accomplish, willing to overcome my fears – because I was willing to do what others weren’t – I now get to live a lifestyle that others can’t.

And the fact is – YOU can too.

It’s a whole lot easier than you ever imagined.

Interview with Sean Furey

You’ve no doubt heard me talk about Matt Furey, and how I’ve been a member of his elite Mastermind Group since 2003.

A quick Google search will bring you a virtual encyclopedia of information about Matt.

He’s affectionately become known as The Zen Master of The Internet, and with GOOD reason.

While some people think that the $1,500.00 a month price tag to be a part of this group is a little steep, I’m here to tell you that it’s without a doubt – the best investment I’ve ever made.


There’s MANY reasons.

For starters, I’ve discovered that the high investment for admission in the group tends to weed out all the “lookey loos”.

Meet Adam and Kaitlynn

Last Friday I shared the incredible Wealth Attraction Story with you.

As Paul Harvey would say, here’s the rest of the story.

A couple weeks after submitting the offer for our new home, I was in my home office having a conversation with my son Adam and my daughter Kaitlynn.

All of a sudden, Adam screams, “HOLY COW”.

After doing so, Kaitlynn and I almost peed our pants, butt you can be sure that he had our attention.

I respond by asking, “WHAT”?

Apparently, he’d been sitting at my desk, looking at the list of written goals I had posted next to the computer monitor.

He then says, “Look at this, when you wrote down these goals on January 1st of last year, one of your goals was to move into the house on 107th Avenue by May of this year.

And now, we’re moving in on August 8th.

Sure, that’s a couple months after the date you set, but who cares”.

Seeing this, Kaitlynn says, “Yeah, whenever dad hangs a photo of something he wants, or writes down his goals and hangs them on the desk, they always come true”.

I then explained my “Wealth Attraction Formula” to the kids, which is something I’d never done before..

After doing so, Kaitlynn announced that she too was going to start hanging photos of her goals on my desk.

Now – in addition to my own photos and goals, there are photos that Kaitlynn put there – of a horse, a new bedroom set and a Mustang Convertible..

And remember, Kaitlynn’s just 14 years old, getting ready to start her 9th grade year in high school.

So she won’t getting a Mustang Convertible for a couple of years, but make no doubt about it, she WILL achieve every one of her goals (some sooner than others).

In fact, I suggested that she include dates of when she wants to realize each one of her goals.

People on “the outside” might consider this kind of behavior to be child’s play, but let me assure you, it’s not.

I’m living proof, and have been for quite some time now, that this “Wealth Attraction Formula” works like gangbusters.


In the VERY near future, Kaitlynn will have her own Wealth Attraction stories to share.

In case you’re wondering about Adam, yes, he too is now writing down his goals and following the formula.

At this point, you may be thinking to yourself, “Kevin, if this “Wealth Attraction Formula” of yours is so great, why didn’t you share it with your kids earlier”?

Tis simple.

I ALWAYS prefer to “show”, rather than “tell”.

When teaching life lessons to my kids, it’s much more powerful when they’re fully engaged in the lesson.

So let me ask you, do you think Adam and Kaitlynn were fully engaged in this particular lesson.

You bet they were.

Because they saw the results of the formula first-hand for themselves, there was no doubt in their minds that it worked.

They KNEW it worked – because they’d already seen proof.

The "Wealth Attraction" Story

Here’s the story I promised you yesterday.

You’re gonna LOVE it.

In late May, my wife Lisa and I began looking at new homes.

The business, and our family has been growing (yes, Lisa is pregnant again – YEAHHH), and it was time to find a larger home.

After several weeks of casual home browsing, we found a home that Lisa absolutely fell in love with.

This particular home was still under construction, and was in the final stages of being built.

So we contacted Wendy, our real estate agent and asked her to schedule a showing for us.

Within a couple hours, she got back to us and said that the home was a pre-sale, meaning that it was being built for someone else.

“But”, she said, “I did a little bit of research, and I’ve found another home that’s similar. Would you like to see it?”

Though we were a little disappointed, we agreed to look at the other home.

That afternoon, which was June 25th, Wendy picked us up and we were off to see what she’d found for us.

When we arrived at the home, Lisa and I looked at each other in amazement.

You see, we’d been looking at this home a couple of years ago, but at that time, it was out of our price range.

But now, things had changed considerably, and we knew this home could be ours if we so desired.

We spent a good hour looking at the home.

Lisa and I grew more and more excited, because we knew we’d found our family’s new home.

Once we’d finished our preview, we immediately returned back to our present home so Wendy could help us do the necessary paperwork and submit our offer.

We also had Wendy put our current home on the market.

As we sat in my home office doing all the paperwork, Wendy noticed a photo that was hanging on my desk.

“Isn’t that the home we just looked at?” she inquired.

Once again, Lisa and I looked at each other in amazement.

“You’re not going to believe this Wendy”, I explained, “When we were looking at this home two years ago, I grabbed a flyer, and that photo has been hanging on my desk ever since.

For quite a while now, I’ve been doing that kind of thing. When I’m working towards a goal, I’ll write those goals on paper, and if it’s a physical goal, I’ll hang photos of the goal on my desk.

And to be honest, I don’t usually do much more than that.

I call it my “Wealth Attraction Formula”.

By following this formula, I’ve found that virtually all my goals come to pass.”

At that moment, Wendy noticed the photo of the Maroon Hummer hanging on my desk and asked, “Did you have that photo hanging there before you got the Hummer?”

“You bet”, I responded, “I put that photo there last year, and less than 4 months after doing so, I had the new Hummer”.

Needless to say, Wendy was more than intrigued by my formula for reaching my goals, and we’ve had several conversations about it since.

But here’s where this story gets REALLY interesting.

The day after submitting the offer on our new home, and putting our current home on the market, I contacted Mike, my mortgage broker, to let him know what was going on.

A few minutes into our conversation, Mike begins to share his concern with me.

“Kevin”, he said, “This really isn’t the best time to put your home on the market. Things are a little slow right now and homes just aren’t selling that well. As a friend, I need to let you know there’s a good possibility that your current home may not sell in time, and if that happens, you’ll have to make double mortgage payments. Could you handle that financially if that were to happen?”

I then said, “Mike, I understand what you’re saying, but I honestly believe that my family and I are meant to have this home. That being the case, I also believe that everything is going to fall into place, our house will sell in time, and we won’t be forced to make those double mortgage payments”.

And yes, in case you’re wondering, that’s precisely what happened.

Within 3 days we had a full-price offer on our current home.

We closed on the sale of that home on August 7th.

We closed on the sale of our new home, and moved in on August 8th.

Things couldn’t have gone any smoother.

You see, many of us have been taught, or heard of different methods for reaching our goals. I have too.

Unfortunately, most of what’s being taught is completely worthless.

I oughtta know, cause over the last 11+ years, I’ve tried every method imaginable for reaching my personal and business goals – with virtually no success.

Yet, for the last year, my “Wealth Attraction Formula” has worked like a charm, every single time.

I also shared this story with my clients on a recent coaching call, and everyone on the line was asking question, after question, after question about my formula.

The Update

If you’ve been a subscriber for any amount of time, you’ve probably been wondering why you haven’t heard from me over the last couple weeks.

Yes, I admit it’s not like me – to not stay in touch with you.

So let me give you “The Update”.

As you probably know, my family and I have been making plans to move into our new home since late June.

There’s a HUGE story behind this particular move, which I’ll share with you tomorrow.

I’m happy to say that we made it through the process and are settled in for the most part.

It’s funny though – even though I did everything within my power to make this move go as smoothly as possible, some things just don’t work out as planned.

I’m thankful for the fact that I’ve been an entrepreneur for the last 11+ years, and have become accustomed to improvising when I need to.

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about.

Prior to moving, I contacted Verizon, the local phone company to have my DSL and phone services transferred to our new home on moving day, which was August 8th.

Imagine my surprise when setting up my new home office, only to find that I’m completely cut off from the rest of the world.

No phone service.


No internet connection.


And to make matters worse, my cell phone doesn’t work at our new home either.


For a guy like me, whos lively hood is tied to the internet and the phone, this was NOT a pretty picture.

Not pretty at all.

But, like I said, as an entrepreneur, I’m used to dealing with things when they don’t go as planned.

Yes, it may be frustrating, but deal with it we must.

I mean really – what other option do we have.


Here it is, two weeks later:

I’ve got phone service in my new office, but still don’t have an internet connection.

For the last couple weeks, I’ve been making a 16 mile trek to the local Starbuck’s, just so I can get internet access.

Many times I take this little journey twice a day.

My friends think I’m crazy, but here’s what they don’t realize…

I’ve got a business to run, and I’ve got clients that expect me to honor the promises I’ve made to them.

Do you think they want to hear about my little challenges?

No siree.

They expect me to deliver on my promises and provide them with the service they’ve come to expect.

And though it’s certainly been convenient for me at times, business has continued to run as usual.

You see, most business owners, when presented with such a challenge, would curl up in a ball and say to their clients, “Sorry folks, but we’re having technical challenges, and we’re not going to be able to give you the services (or products) that we promised. We’ll get back to you when we’ve got everything ironed out and resume business as usual”.

In fact, this is exactly how I was treated by Verizon when they dropped the ball on me.

They promised to have communication services installed at my new home on August 8th.

Here it is two weeks later, and I still don’t have everything in place.

Yet they haven’t even offered me so much as an apology for the inconvenience.

You can be sure, if they weren’t the only communications option for the area I live, I’d drop them like a hot potato.

They’d lose me as a customer… FOREVER.

Fortunately, Comcast is expanding their reach, and will be servicing my area in the very near future.

And when they do, you can be sure I’ll switch to them, in an instant.

So – here’s the two BIG lessons:

1. Always deliver on the promises to your clients. They don’t care about your hardships, and expect you to deliver on your promises. If you don’t, they’ll go elsewhere. But when you continue to deliver, in spite of challenges and obstacles, they’ll stay with you, and they’ll sing your praises to everyone they come in contact with.

2. As entrepreneur, we must have a “can do” attitude. Wanna-be entrepreneurs give up at the first sign of an obstacle or challenge, and to me, this is absolutely ridiculous.

I’ll let you in on a little secret.

The only way you can ever lose at the game of business, and the game of making munee, is if you give up.

As long as you don’t give up, you’ll ALWAYS win… garunteed.
