Go On A “Media Diet”

Last Thursday I took a trip to Phoenix, where I spent two days with 31 of the most incredible business owners and entrepreneurs on the planet.

If I were to tell you the names of the people in this group, you’d recognize some of them – because they’re regularly on television.

What’s so interesting about this group of entrepreneurs is the fact that every single one of them are experiencing massive growth in their businesses right now.

You might wonder – “How in the heck is that possible”?

I mean seriously, we’re in the middle of a recession, so how is it possible for this group of business owners to be doing so well.

And that brings us to the Millyun-dolar answer (and yes, I spelled that incorrectly on purpose).

Every member of this group has made the decision to ignore what they hear in the media.

That’s right.

They’ve put themselves on a self-imposed “media diet”.

They don’t watch news on television.

They don’t browse online news sites.

They don’t read the newspaper.

Instead, they only communicate with other like-minded people who are committed to making a positive impact in this world.

And let me tell you, it’s working.

Take my business for example…

Since 2004, I’ve been teaching people how to do what I do on the internet.

I want you to put yourself on a “media diet”, starting right now.

During this two weeks, you have permission to take a break from listening to the media.

From watching the television.

From reading the newspaper.

From visiting online news sites.

From doing any of that stuff.

And just in case you’re concerned about being uninformed, or out of the loop, let me put that issue to rest right now.

Your friends, co-workers and family will keep you plenty informed.

I haven’t watched the news in almost two years now, yet I haven’t missed out on a thing.


By getting the overwhelming majority of my input from people that energize and inspire me, I’ve had incredible success during that 2-year period.

If you’ll make a commitment to try this little experiment, you’ll be amazed at what happens.

They’ll Pay You For This…

A couple months ago we were getting ready to do some landscaping around our home.

As soon as we began preparing for this project, Lisa and I began buying multiple books on the subject, so we could figure out how to best get the job done.

The author of one of these books just happened to live in our local area, and in the book, he made an offer for a one-on-one consultation, at no charge.

We decided to take him up on this offer.

And long story short, we hired his services, and he took care of the entire landscaping project for us.


I’ve got to say, this guy’s book was fantastic, but as we began to read through it, we had a lot of unanswered questions.

Getting his one-on-one help, and eventually hiring his services proved to be invaluable because he was able to give us exactly what we wanted, and we saved ourselves from making a lot of critical mistakes.

Although this author’s book is a steady seller, the fact is, he makes FAR more from the jobs he gets as a result of that book.

Mr. Determination F-U

I wanted to thank you for all the emails you sent after receiving yesterday’s story about “Mr. Determination”.

There was one in particular that REALLY grabbed my attention, and that’s why I’m sending you this follow-up.

Here it is:


Oh, you are so right about people thinking that you can’t do something when you know darn well that you can.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves, and I really hate that attitude the most.

Some people can be so ignorant, to think that way and then sometimes speak out, telling you directly that you can’t do something.

I got that attitude a lot in my life just because I was a woman in a “man’s” business field.

When I was younger, people thought I was stupid and ignorant, but they didn’t even know me personally. And they certainly didn’t know what I was capable of.

It’s so aggravating.

It didn’t hurt my self-esteem, it just made me angry at the people.

I look forward to hearing what you have to say about it.

That’s a cute son you have, and he’s fortunate to have good parents who will encourage him.

I agree with what you say about not wanting to stifle him.

That’s exactly what I tried to do with my kids, who are now in their 20s, well adjusted and happy.

Guidance, not discipline-through-fear-and-threats.

YES, not NO (usually at scream-level).

I cringe at how some parents treat their kids in public, wonder how much worse it is at home.

You bring up some good points.

Whenever someone tells me that I can’t do something, it makes me angry too.

I’ve learned to harness that anger, and focus it on accomplishing the thing they said can’t be done.


Without saying a word, I make sure they see that I did it.

And let me tell you, I love doing this.

Revenge is a sweet, sweet thing.

Funny thing is, once they see that you’ve done it, they seem to keep their mouths shut from that point forward.

Now they just look at you in awe, wondering how in the heck you did it.

Mr. Determination

Last week I shared the “Baby Gate” video with you, and it packed one heck of a powerful lesson.

Today I’ve got something that you’re going to enjoy just as much (if not more) – a couple photos of “Mr. Determination”… in ACTION.

Our son Brock is now 9 months old.

He’ll be 10 months on the 21st of this month.

At this point in his life, he’s discovering his world – which means that Lisa and I have to be on our toes.

When Brock sets his mind to something, there’s no stopping him.

At this point in his life, there’s nothing standing in his way of accomplishing his objective, other than me and mom.

And even at that, we’re extremely careful in how we correct him, because the last thing we want to do is stifle his energy.

Most folks our age have already had this done to us, and in most cases, we don’t even realize it.

How many times growing up did someone tell you things like…

“You can’t do that”.

“That will never work”.

“No one’s ever done that before”.

“What makes you think you’re so special”?

Happened a lot, didn’t it.

Problem is, each time someone said something like this to you, it slowly chipped away at your self esteem.

It slowly chipped away at your creativity.

It slowly chipped away at your self confidence.

And now, as adults, we’ve lost our determination to have MORE from life.

Fortunately this can be fixed.

I ought know, cause my mentor, Mr. Matt Furey helped me fix this problem,

As you know, Matt has had a HUGE hand in my success, and very soon, I’m going to get the opportunity to personally introduce you to him.

The Bully

This morning Lisa and I got into a REALLY deep conversation where the two of us began recalling childhood memories.

Before we knew it, 2 hours had passed.

I can’t even remember the last time I did this, but let me tell you, it was one heck of an experience.

One of the stories I shared with Lisa was about this bully who lived next door to us when I was a child.

I have vivid memories of this little jerk, and how he used to antagonize all the other kids in the neighborhood, including me.

At one point in time I was talking with my mom, telling her of yet another run-in with “the bully”.

After hearing my woes, she made a suggestion that I’ve never forgot.

She said, “Kevin, if you just clean this kid’s clock one time, he’ll never bother you again”.


To put this into perspective, you need to understand my mom.

She was a very loving person, and definitely not prone to violence.

That’s why her words had such a profound impact on me.

To be honest, I could hardly believe what she’d just told me – but I DID take it to heart.

It was only a matter of days before I found myself in yet another altercation with “the bully”, and this time, it was in my own back yard (if you can believe that).

That’s right. I was in my own back yard playing with another friend.

I can remember how shocked I was that this jerk had the nerve to come through our gate, and into our back yard, with the intent of starting trouble.

My friend and I were having fun, minding our own business, yet “the bully” had other plans.

As soon as I saw the kid, I told him to get off my property and go back home – but he didn’t listen.

He walked right up to me, grabbed my shirt collar and was getting ready to give me a swift punch to the mid section.

But, this time things would NOT go as they had in the past.

Because in that very moment, I remembered my mom’s words, and without even thinking, I made a fist with my right hand, rarred back my arm and swung it with all my might.

In so doing, I delivered a blow to this kid’s jaw that knocked him to the ground and left him bleeding profusely from his lip.

Seeing him laying there on the ground was quite a surprise.

Truth is, I didn’t know I had it in me to do such a thing, and neither did my friend.

My friend just stood there with this look of amazement on his face, yet at the same time he was grinning – because he knew that the tables had now been turned.

Without saying a word, “the bully” stood up and left.

For the next few days he was sporting a big ole fat lip at school.

I can only imagine how he explained that one to all of his buddies.

But the good news was, “the bully” NEVER bothered me again.

My mom was right.

As I shared this story with Lisa, it dawned on me that this event had changed my life from that point forward.

That’s not to say that I go around beating up people who do me wrong.


I sure as heck don’t let other people’s comments or actions get to me.

In fact, when someone tells me that I can’t do something, I set out to prove them wrong.

When starting my first business, there were plenty of people who told me it would never work.

That I wasn’t cut out to be an entrepreneur.

That I should play it safe by keeping my job.

Heck, my first wife divorced me when I wanted to start my own business.

I’m sure similar things have happened to you.

People have called you crazy.

People have told you that you’ll never be successful.

People have told you to play it safe.

And now, you’re probably wishing that you hadn’t listened to them.

I’m here to tell you that you can accomplish ANYTHING you want or desire.

All you have to do is make the decision to do so, and then spend your time with like-minded people who will help you make it happen.

That’s what I do.

I don’t say a word to those who would tell me I can’t do something.

I simply get the help I need to make it happen, and then I do the thing that can’t be done.

And let me tell you, it feels SOOOOO GOOD when the nay-sayers see that I’ve accomplished what they said I couldn’t do.

The 4-Step Munee Process

Last Monday, one of my members told me that someone had posted a questionable comment about me on one of those online forums.

Needless to say, I was curious, and had to go check it out.

After doing so, I discovered that it was from someone who’s obviously watching me from the sidelines, without ever getting in the game.

To quote him, “Basically, Kevin’s program is about creating a squeeze page, building a list and creating your own product. This information is everywhere”.

And yes, in it’s simplest terms, this guy is right.

After all, when it comes to making munee on the internet, there’s ONLY four steps.

That’s right – doing what we do is a 4-Step Munee Making Process.

And here they are:

1. Find a niche market that you’re passionate about helping.

2. Create or find a product that gives them what they want or solves a problem for them.

3. Put up a simple 2-page website.

4. Drive traffic to that website.

There you have it, the simple 4-Step Munee Making Process.

And like the gentleman in the forum suggests, this information is everywhere.


While the process is there, and you have the basic formula, there are MANY nuances that go into this process.

For example:

How do you find a niche market that will be profitable for you?

And not just any ole niche.

But a niche that you’re PASSIONATE about helping.

You see, anyone can find a niche market, but very few people can actually make munee in that niche.

And the reason is this.

Most people start an online business with the sole intention of making a buck.

That’s all they care about – making the almighty buckaroo.

But, here’s the problem with that.

Eventually – someone else is going to come along, and decide that they want to help the same niche market.

Only difference is, this other person is truly passionate about helping that market.

They’re not simply out to make a buck.

Instead, they have something of immense value to share. They have something important to say – and they’re completely fired up to share what they’ve discovered.

So, let me ask you…

Who do you think is gonna win this game?

That’s right.

If you’re the guy or gal who’s simply out to make a buck, this other person is gonna eat your lunch.
