Jungle Or Zoo?

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Earlier this year, on July 21st, we took a family trip to the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, Washington.

You may remember me showing you a video of our outing.

While there, I was able to get this amazing photo

After seeing it, I’m sure you’ll agree, this isn’t the kind of thing one gets to see every day.

Some people will go through their entire lives, and never get the opportunity to see anything like this.

As I look at this photo, it makes me think of everything the tiger had to give up in order to live the life he now does.

Sure, he’s got all his needs taken care of, and as you can see, he gets fed very well.

In order to have these luxuries, he also had to give up his freedom and his right to roam the jungle.

As a result, he now spends his entire life confined to a small cage in a zoo.

The sad thing is, there’s a lot of people who put themselves in the same situation.

They give up what’s important to them, in exchange for a life of mediocrity and insignificance.

And that’s no way to live life.

I want to have an impact in this world.

I want to make a difference in people’s lives.

I want to stand for something meaningful.

And if that means I have to spend my life pursuing my God given talents and abilities, so I can be the person I was put on this earth to be, then that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

When we go through the world this way, everything else will take care of itself, and we get to have everything we could possibly want or imagine.

13 Year Anniversary Today

Monday, September 20th, 2010

No, it’s not mine and Lisa’s 13 year anniversary.

Our anniversary was on August 20th, and we’ve only been married for five years.

13 years ago today, on September 20, 1997, I got my first computer.

A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then, and to celebrate all that’s happened, I’ve got a HUGE gift for you.

You’ll find it here… Awesome Gift For You.

With that said, let me tell you why this is such a big cause for celebration.

My first computer was an HP, and by today’s standards, it would definitely be considered a dinosaur. It wasn’t too different from the one pictured above.

But at the time, that computer opened a WHOLE new world to me.

I can still remember that day, when I brought my new compute home from Circuit City, unpacked it from the box, and began setting it up in my spare room.

I was a bit apprehensive, but at the same time I was excited.

Within the first week of owning my first computer, I got set up with AOL, and the first time I used their service to access the internet, I was amazed.

I remember how I’d spend hours at a time on the computer, browsing the internet, and being fascinated by what I discovered.

That same week I also discovered the chat rooms on AOL.

And let me tell you, that was an amazing experience for me.

Who would’ve ever thunk we could sit in front of this computer monitor, and talk (type) with people from across the country in real time.

I remember being in a chat room, and someone asked me to send them a photo of myself.

I’m thinking to myself, “How in the heck do I do that”?

I honestly started looking at my computer, trying to see if there’s some place to insert a photo.

Not wanting to admit my ignorance in the chat room, I simply told the person that I didn’t have a photo to send.

But the next day, I was heading right back to Circuit City so I could ask the guy how to send a photo with my computer.

It was a fascinating time.

And today, here it is… 13 years later, and I’m still just as fascinated.

I’m still communicating with people in real time using this computer. Although the one I’m currently using is a lot different than the one I had back in 1997.

And back then, I never would’ve guessed that I’d be using this computer, and the internet, to produce a great income.

Not only that…

Over the years, I’ve shown countless other people, from across the U.S., and around the world, how they can follow in my footsteps.

And the funny thing is, we’re just scratching the surface.

Computers and the internet have changed the way we live, there’s no doubt about that.

In order to celebrate this amazing technology, I’ve got an awesome gift for you.

You’ll find it here… Awesome Gift For You.

This is REALLY special, so don’t miss out.

For Parents Only

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

I’m not going to talk to you about business or marketing today.

Instead, I’m going to talk about something else that’s near and dear to my heart… parenting.

As you can imagine, having a total of 6 children, ranging in age from 5 months – to 24 years, things can tend to get a little hectic in the Thompson household.

And now that we’ve got two little ones (Ellianna who’s 5 months, and Brock who’s 2 and a half), Lisa and I are actively involved in seeking parenting advice.

Truth is, we’ve been searching out parenting advice for quite awhile now.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re losing ground with your kids, you’ll really appreciate what I have to share with you today.

If you’re like most parents, this happens on a regular basis. Kids are a unique challenge and sometimes they have the ability to wear us down in no time flat.

They seem to know all the right buttons to push and all the words to say to get under our skin.

And when that happens, you might end up saying things you know you shouldn’t let slip out of your mouth.

If you heard the same words from your kids, they’d be grounded for a month!

If you can relate to this scenario, go here right away – Measure Up Families

When you do, I’ll introduce you to my friend, and HIGHLY UNIQUE PARENT… Adrian Booher.

You know how most parenting experts have one or two children?

Well… Adrian has nine – soon to be ten!

What an amazing experience that must be!

She’s going to share the most important things in raising a child with you.

With all those different personalities in her home, you can bet that it will apply to you, as well.

If you’re a parent, be sure to check this out – Measure Up Families
You’ll be glad you did.

P.S. Here some insight from Adrian, in her own words….

“I have been writing a book in my head for over a decade and I’m finally getting it down on paper. When I realized there was one huge key to parenting my children, I started applying it and analyzing it. Since then I have become more and more convinced that I have an important element that almost all parenting experts leave out.

I am eager to share with everyone what this wonderful key element is. I’m giving away the first chapter free, and even if that’s all you ever read, it will help you look at your family, your children and yourself in a new light.

I am passionate about helping parents realize their full potential in raising children, and raising themselves to a higher level of awareness within their families.

I have waited too long to get this concept out because I kept feeling that I needed to be closer to perfect before sharing my journey, but I finally realized that everyone has things to work on. It’s a part of life and the sooner I can express these words to others, the sooner others can benefit, too.

I don’t think there is anyone who feels they “measure up” to the standard they have set all the time, but measuring up is an action that we work on every day. It’s a call to action!

Here’s where you can go to get my first chapter free – Measure Up Families

I would love to hear from you after you read it and hear how you are applying this concept in your own family.

You Get No Points For…

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

I recently got an email from a gentleman who was telling me that he’d been studying business and marketing for several years, and in specific, online bidness.

He then went on to tell me that as of yet, he’d had no success to date.

When I inquired as to what he’d done so far, he had nothing to report.

I know that YOU don’t need to be told this, but for the benefit of our fellow above, it needs to be said.

You get no points for studying alone.

In fact, you could have years and years of intense study, and that doesn’t entitle you to a doggone thing.

In order to earn points, you’ve got to apply what you’ve studied.

In other words, you’ve got to take action.

It’s the course of getting out there, doing things, and taking action that we have success.

So… go take action.

And when you do, report back to me with your results.

Because then we’ll have something great to talk about.

It’s Moments Like This…

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Though I let you into much of my life, there’s also much that I keep private.

I guess the reason for this is because I’m not really big on flashiness, or talking about how great I am.

But after having an experience like the one we just had, I just couldn’t keep this to myself.

Because it’s moments like this that make life incredible.

You may know that we started a family foundation in 2008.

In case you don’t know what a family foundation is, think of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Thompson Family Foundation is similar, but on a smaller scale.

My original motivation for starting our family foundation was for the tax break I’d receive.

But in the process of organizing it, Lisa and I caught a real vision for all the good we could do through this family foundation.

Over the last two years we’ve done exactly that.

We’ve provided needed assistance to lots of different worth organizations, and in the process I’ve come to realize that the entire purpose of my business is to fund our family foundation.

It’s been incredibly humbling and gratifying to know that we’ve made a difference in so many people’s lives over the last two years.

But I have to say…

Nothing can compare to what we did last week.

We undertook a huge project, unlike anything we’d ever done before.

And like I said, the reason I didn’t tell you about it in advance, was simply because I didn’t want to be perceived as bragging.

But now that it’s happened, I’ve got to share the experience with you.

On September 27th our entire family flew to Jamaica with the purpose of taking needed supplies to the Blossom Garden Orphanage in Montego Bay.

But what actually transpired when we arrived was completely unexpected.

Instead of our family giving to these 40+ orphaned children, they gave to us.

We spent two days at the orphanage doing nothing more than spending time with, loving and holding these children.

It was an emotional experience that one can hardly put into words.

I’m getting pretty choked up right now as I write this to you.

Instead of trying to continue writing, I decided to share these photos with you instead.

I know this is completely outside of how I normally communicate with you.

On the surface, this may seem like it has nothing do with business or creating income, yet it has everything to do with business and creating income.

Because the fact is, when you have a vision that’s bigger than yourself, the resources, tools, finances, people and everything else you need seem to be attracted, almost as if by magic.

If you like these photos and want to see some more, just let me know.

I’ve got some video clips too, and maybe I’ll even share those if you’re interested in seeing them.

Miami Ink, Tattoos & Marketing

Monday, September 6th, 2010

One of the things I’ve been teaching for years…

If you want to have a successful business, you MUST give people what they already want to buy.

And it’s even better when you can have a mostly automated system that gives people what they already want to buy.

That’s what attracted me to the internet in the first place, and motivated me to start my first website ( back in 2000.

I’m now going to give you another great example of this principle.

And like it or not, agree with it or not – there’s no disputing the fact that tattoo parlors are in the market of giving people what they want to buy.

Personally, I have no desire to ever get a tattoo, but that doesn’t change the fact that the FDA estimates 45-million Americans have at least one tattoo.

I was reading an article in a recent Glazier-Kennedy Newsletter that revealed even more interesting statistics.

Tattooing has NEVER been stopped… by any economic conditions.

People will pay for tattoos by layaway, saving money with the tattoo artist, until they’ve got enough to get the artwork they want.

People will even use unemployment checks, child support and grocery money to pay for tattoos.

Tattooing has become so mainstream, that it now has its own television reality show – Miami Ink.

There’s a HUGE lesson here, and like I said earlier, it’s one I’ve been teaching for years.

You’ve got to structure your business, so that it gives people what they already want to buy.

Contrary to popular belief, we are NOT in the business of “selling” products and services.

Take my mold website ( as another example.

It’s not glamorous. In fact, it’s a downright ugly website.

But make no mistake about it… that website has been designed to give people what they already want to buy.

Can you see how it does so?

Take your best guess, and post your comments below.

The first person who answers correctly is going to get something REALLY special from me.
