I recently told you about Bob, the search and rescue guy.
After posting the story to my blog, it got a lot of incredible feedback, and I have to say, hearing back from you is what keeps me going.
If all I did was put my thoughts on paper (or on the internet), and sent them out into cyberspace, without ever getting feedback from you… I’d probably call it quits.
Because the truth is, I’m not doing this for myself.
I have to know that I’m having an impact on your life too – otherwise, what’s the point?
So once again, thanks for all the incredible feedback.
Of everyone who responded, Grace Ratto’s comment seemed to reach out and grab me.
Here’s what she said:
“Everything was in place & the clincher was you got lost within his passion about what he does with search & rescue. When people speak what they are passionate about, it could be the dullest topic & they would have your attention because of their passion. The excitement they experience is easily transferred to you & this is something that tells the true story of the person…one cannot fake it”.
And I’ve got to hand it to Grace, because she’s right.
You can’t fake passion.
Either you have it… or you don’t.
And the sad thing is, when it comes to business, the overwhelming percentage of business owners fall into the “don’t have it” category.
They have absolutely no passion for what they’re doing, the products they’re selling, and the customers they’re interacting with.
How boring is that?
If you’re in a place like this, find something to GET PASSIONATE about.
And if you can’t get passionate about the business you’re currently in, then find another business.
Because, like Grace said, there’s no mistaking someone who’s got passion.
Someone with passion can be selling the most boring products in the world, yet people will beat a path to their door, simply because they’re attracted to the passion.
So let me ask you…
Are you passionate about something?
If so… what is it?
Let me know.
