The Glass Wall Bathroom

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

As you probably recall, I flew to Los Angeles in early November so I could attend the Richard Branson fundraiser for Virgin Unite.

While there, I stayed at one of the craziest hotels ever.

The bathroom didn’t have a wall.

Well… it did, but it was glass.

This is definitely NOT for people who like privacy.

Check out the video above to see what I’m talking about.

Then… let me know what you think.

Would you stay at a crazy hotel like this?

Holiday Wishes And Big Expectations

Monday, December 27th, 2010

Just a quick email to wish you and your family a sincere Happy Holidays.

But more importantly, I’m excited to let you know that there are HUGE things in the works for 2011.

Since it’s only a week away, I’ve already been making big plans for you, and will be unveiling them shortly.

I also wanted to share this with you…

Our family went to Leavenworth, Washington last weekend for the world famous lighting ceremony.

If you’ve never had a chance to see this unique event in person, this will is the next best thing to being there.

I hope you enjoy it.

P.S. I’ll be taking some time off and spending it with the family this week, but will be back in touch shortly with some great news.

The Finished Project

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

You asked for it, and here it is.

Here’s the video of the finished art project that Steve did.

Talk about amazing.

Whenever I run across someone like Steve, who has an amazing talent, I love sharing it with other people.

After seeing this you may find yourself wondering how you can get Steve to create a masterpiece like this for your own home.

If that’s the case, let me know, and I’ll put you in touch with him.

The great news is, he can make it happen… without having to travel to your home.

I won’t steal his thunder by telling you how.

Post a comment below if you want to know more, and I’ll be happy to make a personal introduction for you.

Amazing Artist At Work

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

Taegan, our friend’s daughter recently made the move across the state, to our neck of the woods, and she’s starting a new hair salon.

Her friend Steve did some painting at the salon, and once Lisa saw what he’d done, she hired him to do some painting in Brock’s room.

Now keep in mind, Brock is 2 and a half years old right now, and like many boys his age, he’s totally into Thomas the Train.

Lisa asked Steve if he could do “Something Thomas” in Brock’s room, and he agreed.

Steve showed up here at our house yesterday afternoon, with tools in hand, ready to get to work.

When he was part way through the job, I went up and shot this little video.

Talk about unique.

Steve does some amazing work… doesn’t he.

Be sure to let me know if you want to see the finished project.

If enough of you are interested, I’ll be sure to let you see another video, and show you how the project turned out.

Who knows…

We might even be able to figure out a way for Steve to do something like this for you.

Let me know what you think.

I Make A Difference… Do You?

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

My daughter Kaitlynn came home from school the other day, telling me about this video that I absolutely… definitely… had to see.

And after watching it, I knew I absolutely… definitely… had to share it with you as well.

A word of warning though, to those who are easily offended:

You might want to take a pass, as Taylor is a little rough around the edges.

He’s incredibly passionate about what he does, and what he has to say, but he will most definitely rub a few people the wrong way.

Especially attorneys.

If you can see past his rough edges, and listen to the message he has to share, you too will be incredibly moved.

Wouldn’t it be great if more people in the world were THIS passionate about what they do?

A First For Elli

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

The other day I was sitting here in my office, minding my own business… trying to finish up a key project… when I hear all this noise coming from our kitchen.

I dropped everything I was doing so I could investigate.

Once I realized what was going on, I raced back into the office to grab my flip video camera and make this short clip.

Talk about awesome.

This is what life is all about.

This is why I do what I do.

This is what motivates me to get out of bed every day.

Life is all about having moments like this, and you can be sure that I want a whole lot more of them.

Here’s to you and yours this Holiday Season.

I hope you have lots of moment like these.

Moments that you’ll remember, and cherish forever.

You Can’t Fake Passion

Monday, December 13th, 2010

I recently told you about Bob, the search and rescue guy.

After posting the story to my blog, it got a lot of incredible feedback, and I have to say, hearing back from you is what keeps me going.

If all I did was put my thoughts on paper (or on the internet), and sent them out into cyberspace, without ever getting feedback from you… I’d probably call it quits.

Because the truth is, I’m not doing this for myself.

I have to know that I’m having an impact on your life too – otherwise, what’s the point?

So once again, thanks for all the incredible feedback.

Of everyone who responded, Grace Ratto’s comment seemed to reach out and grab me.

Here’s what she said:

“Everything was in place & the clincher was you got lost within his passion about what he does with search & rescue. When people speak what they are passionate about, it could be the dullest topic & they would have your attention because of their passion. The excitement they experience is easily transferred to you & this is something that tells the true story of the person…one cannot fake it”.

And I’ve got to hand it to Grace, because she’s right.

You can’t fake passion.

Either you have it… or you don’t.

And the sad thing is, when it comes to business, the overwhelming percentage of business owners fall into the “don’t have it” category.

They have absolutely no passion for what they’re doing, the products they’re selling, and the customers they’re interacting with.

How boring is that?

My advice…

If you’re in a place like this, find something to GET PASSIONATE about.

And if you can’t get passionate about the business you’re currently in, then find another business.

Because, like Grace said, there’s no mistaking someone who’s got passion.

Someone with passion can be selling the most boring products in the world, yet people will beat a path to their door, simply because they’re attracted to the passion.

So let me ask you…

Are you passionate about something?

If so… what is it?

Let me know.

Brock’s Marching Band

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

The other day I shared a video that showed Brock intently studying the marching band at one of our recent high school football games.

Today I’m going to show you the video from the morning after.

I shot this video of Brock as he came parading into the kitchen, informing us that he was now in the marching band.

It’s quite entertaining, but beyond that, there’s a huge lesson here.

If you want to know how to do anything, all you have to do is watch and learn from someone who’s already accomplished what it is that you want to do.

Brock’s already got that lesson figured out, and he’s only two.

I can only imagine where he’s going to go in life, and the great things he’s going to accomplish.
