After watching this video, it’s obvious that this guy knows how to find the traffic flow
We had some out of town friends visiting over 4th of July weekend, so we decided to do the tourist thing and show them around Seattle.
One of our stops included the famous Pike Place Market.
While there, right next to the fish counter, I notice this guy singing – while simultaneously playing his guitar, harmonica and tambourine – all at the same time.
Truth is, he was a pretty good musician.
And more importantly than that, he was a GREAT marketer, who knew the importance of putting himself right in the middle of the traffic flow.
I stood there watching him far longer than the minute I let the recorder run, and let me tell you, there were all kinds of people giving him money.
It’s safe to say that this guy was easily making 50-100 bucks an hour.
Not only that, he was having FUN doing it.
He was getting paid for doing what he loves.
So how does this apply to you?
I’ll tell you how…
Everyone knows that if you expect to make money on the internet – you need 3 things.
You need a website.
You need traffic.
And you need conversion, meaning that you need to turn that traffic into sales, into money in the bank.
Today we’re talking about the second thing… TRAFFIC.
If you’ve ever been on one of my training seminars, you’ve no doubt heard me say, “Find the traffic flow, and put your website right in the middle of it”.
Which is precisely what the guy in the video did, and it pays off very well for him.
Everybody in the internet marketing world is obsessed with getting traffic to their websites.
They want 101 ways to make it happen.
And the truth is – you don’t need 101 ways.
In my business, I only use a handful of strategies for getting traffic.
Would it surprise you to discover that the number is less than 10?
But let me tell you, I leverage those strategies to the hilt.
I use them over and over again, in as many places as I possibly can.
By doing so, I’m able to position my website right in the middle of the traffic flow.
And just like our musician, it’s incredibly profitable.
Dedicated to your success,

Good musician, good allegory, but alas, in the video you showed, it looked like NO one was pitching money in his cup. Most bystanders were trying their best to ignore him and move elsewhere through the crowd. Some glanced his way, but quickly looked away. You were there longer than your tape, so perhaps you saw the money going in the cup/hat, but I didn’t see it in the video. Loved the allegory, tho.
I think it would take a LOT of nerve to be a street musician–my niece does some in the big city where she lives. You have to have talent, of course, but then, to “set up shop” in front of “everybody”, and then to start “blowing your own horn”????? JUST as easy as jumping off that high diving board or actually getting started w/ your IM biz! lol!
You’re right on the money here Kevin! The guy is in the middle of some great traffic… and Suzi, most of it no doubt is just passing by. But I’ve been to that exact spot before and I know that this guy is making some money or he wouldn’t be there. As a matter of fact, the last time I was there, there were several musicians all competing for that traffic! And I think it’s the point Kevin is making. Get your site in front of the swarm and some of it will click. Certainly not everybody, but enough to make it worthwhile! Great job Kevin!
