No One Believes All The Hype

When it comes to presenting your products and services, you’re best served by NOT using hype.

You don’t want to make exaggerated claims, because if you do, people will soon see right through you, and your credibility will be gone.

If anything, you want to downplay your strengths, and the strengths of your products.

So…

How do you do that, and still get people’s attention?

Here’s an example of how I do it.

I started my first online business, my GetMoldSolutions.com website back in 2000.

For years, that website has been producing $7-$10,000.00 a month.

Since then, I’ve started multiple websites, and my income has far surpassed that figure.

But, I seldom, if ever talk about the kind of income I now make.

There’s several reasons for this.

1. If I were to tell people the kind of income I really make, most folks would have a hard time believing it.

2. By only talking about the income I make from my first website, and then letting people know that I now have multiple websites, it allows them to come to their own conclusions in regard to the amount of income I now make.

3. I’m able to maintain my credibility, and not seem boastful, which is the last thing I want to do.

When you purposely understate something, people know it.

In turn, they’ll naturally make the adjustment in their thinking that what you’re talking about is a much bigger deal than you’re saying it is.

And as a result, you’ll gain more credibility with them.

And that’s what you want.

If you’ve had a personal experience that further proves what I’m talking about, be sure and share it by posting your comments below.

the article above is very true with all the Gurus having launches for products costin at least $2000us usually quoting some unbeliverable income figure
Mostly these sales figures come through big JV with other Gurus having huge lists but when you read the affilaite review section of the say warriors forum most buyers are dissapointed with the product or there after sales service is non existet .Ieven had this experence muself just recently
Kevin sorry i have gone on a bit

    Hi Kev,

I give them alot of up front WOW, but as they receive my products and services and discover the “TOTALLY AWESOME” on their own (the under promise but over deliver rule)it has much more impact on them, on their perceived value of my products and services and on their passion to refer to their friends, family and anyone within three feet (the three foot rule).

    Hi,
I have been online for almost 15 years. I know my market is thin, but 2007 was my very best year with several $4000 months during the summer. In 2008 things started good then took a turn for the worse. In September when the stock market fell, my business was all but toast. Since then every time Obama opens his mouth, sales go to zero for several weeks and then sales start trickeling back in until the commie has something more to say.

What can I do with my website to increase sales?

I would like to know what I can do to increase sales off Koolcoat and even if I need another website, what can I do to bring in $10000 a month or more?

    Thanks,
    Chuck
